I am a long-term user of Joomla for web sites.
In the last week, I had one of my worst web nightmares, upgrading from Joomla 1.6.6 to 3.6.6.
Yes, it took me 7 days!
The details are excruciating.
I have about 20 pages of notes.
I read all your documentation, followed all your instructions, scoured the forums, and finally made it out of the woods yesterday.
The forums were what did it.
Joomla Project, how about if it were the other way around?
Can you find it in your hearts to develop upgrade processes that work consistently, and, if not, give informative error messages and instructions for corrections? Many times I made it through part of the upgrade process, only to be rewarded with a broken system, having to start all over again.
I used to work in Information Technology, and, in the effective shops, this would not be tolerated.
I appeal to you, Joomla Project, for standardization, for developing upgrades processes that ease the way!
