It is beyond me that with all the versions of Joomla, it still doesn't have the ability for members registering with your site to input a first name and a last name, not just a "Name" especially when you also have a username. Username and First Name, Last Name. Username is what you login with, username is your "alter ego" username is just that, a username. But... Name is your First name AND your Last name, not one word, it's two words, so why are we stuck with one entry field for our names????
Is there some particular reason WHY joomla has never incorporated this feature? Why should everyone have to deal with just "Name"? as most people have 2 names, first name and a last name... This would also make more sense when displaying content that uses the choice between username and Name, instead, why not have username or "First Name" as most people would like a choice without having to display their "last name".
Come on guys, how hard could it be to break Joomla's users "Name" into 2 separate fields "First Name" and "Last Name" and have that part of core Joomla?? I still can't believe after all these years, Joomla still resorts to giving us just a "Name" entry field.
