STOKED!! so happy that worked. sometimes the settings don't stick when going from 2.5.x to 3.x. i also always run ACL Manager before and after updating from 2.5 to 3. http://ift.tt/Lzeb5q ... trol/17951. ACL Manager has a function of checking and fixing the asset tables which get kinda hosed up sometimes.
