I am using Joomla 3.2.0 and my featured articles do appear in the correct order in the blog layout, but not when paginating through each featured article individually. For some reason, the previous/next buttons do not take the user through the featured articles in the same order as they appear in the blog.
I am not sure if this is supposed to work this way or not. For myself, after going through all this trouble, it seems like paging through the articles should come up in the same order as they appear in the blog. I admit I might be prejudiced in my thinking of how Joomla blogs should work.
Just for clarification, let me give you an "illustration," OK? Let's say I have 4 featured articles called art1, art2, art3, art4 (names or titles of the articles). I use the featured articles manager and drag the 4 to the order I desire, which just happens to be (for the sake of simplicity here, please) art1, art2, etc.
When I bring up the home page of the site, the blog displays these 4 articles in the expected order. (Of course, assume I have made the menu/home setting and the article manager options settings as per the instructions in the solution described in this thread.) But if I click on, say, art2 from the home (blog) page, I get a "prev" button, but no "next" button; I expected to get a "next" button to art3.
This scenario describes what I am experiencing. Again, no problem with the blog layout results; that works precisely as you guys say, following the config instructions you have given. Just the article order when reading them individually, they are not in order.
