General Questions/New to Joomla! 2.5 • php version

Hi there,



I have an account that has several J installation in it (sub domains) . the Joomla versions i am using are j1.5, j2.5, j3.0.



Without getting into specific, It is impossible to upgrade now all sub domains to the same version .



My question is: what is the php version that is recommended to use?
