I'm very happy with Hostgator. Three hosters you should avoid like the bubonic plague:

Godaddy and Wix don't like you ever to change hoster (try to lock you in) and they really don't like Joomla. IX Hosting is very cheap. However, you get there what you pay for. That ain't much. Certainly not in quality.
