You can solve this by giving the submenu-items a 'Link CSS Style'. Therefor open the menu item, go to the tab 'Link Type' and the second Option is 'Link CSS Style'. Add a css-class like 'submenu' and than create the needed CSS.



The border underneath the main menu item you can solve the same way, using another class like 'mainmenu' and than defining the CSS.
