Hi guys,
I've been having some trouble with our Joomla site installation for work, the administration backend was taking well over 2-4 minutes to load anything relating to an article (Create New, Article Manager etc). Occasionally, the Create Article page would load with a white screen and just a box and some text links as well.
After checking the debug, it was a call to the tags database as far as I could see that was slowing down the load.
Disclaimer here: I'm good with technology, and can follow instructions, but MySQL tables and that end of things I'm lost with.
I read up about the databases, and managed to copy the tags to a new 'tags2'. I then cleared out the tags database and everything ran smoothly and quickly on the backend, and the page loaded properly every time.
Now I'd figured this out, I went about putting things back the way they were until I could find a proper solution. I copied the data from tags2 back to tags, but from this point on, the tags field in Article creation doesn't work properly. It can still pick up previous tags, ie ones I'd already made, but it doesn't allow me to add any new ones.
I tried completely deleting the tags database, then copying tags2 structure and data to a 'new' tags database, but the same problem is occurring.
I'm presuming this is because somehow I've disconnected functionality from tags, but I've no idea where to start to fix it.
All help would be greatly appreciated!
Many thanks,
~Daz
