Although I had set permissions of the logs and tmp folders to 755 on my netfirms.com server, they still showed as unwritable in system information
The server support folks fixed something so that the system information showed the logs and tmp files as writable.
That of course fixed the problem and i can now download extensions
configuration.php still shows as 444 in file manager and unwritable in system information, but when i change it to 644 the sys info reading goes to writable.
