True, that function is deprecated as of PHP 5.5.0, which means that the function is still in PHP 5.5.0 but will be removed in the future. That must have happened in PHP 5.6.



The function mysqli_real_escape_string() is not deprecated. You should talk to the author of that extension to get a new version.
