General Questions/New to Joomla! 2.5 • home page only shows if you include index.php in the url

Hi I have a strange problem that I'm not sure if its the site, the config file, or the server that is causing the issue.

I have built a test site in a directory on my own hosts server and everything works ok

I have now transferred the site over to the server where it needs to be hosted and am having problems.

I have created the database and moved all the files into the directory. Now when I browse to that directory the homepage will only display if I include index.php at the end of the url

So http://ift.tt/1675C2D does not work but

http://ift.tt/1675Fvd does work



Also non of the internal page links work and I can only access the admin login if I go to http://ift.tt/1675Cj3 ... /index.php



Has anyone seen this before? Is it site, config or server settings that is causing the problem?
