Administration Joomla! 3.x • Default redirect page upon login?

When I send a link directly to an article which requires authentication to view, Once the User logs in they get redirected to the HomE Page rather than sent to the article to read it. This is confusing for them and I am hoping that someone can tell me what I have overlooked in my settings.
