Migrating and Upgrading to Joomla! 3.x • J2.5.27 to j3.3.6: Application Instantiation Error!

I made an update from J 2.5.27 to j3.3.6 using the standard procedure; deleted what I didn't want, uninstalled modules/plugins that weren't compatible to j3.3.6, kept backup, changed default template, uninstalled old template, went offline, used the update, installed new template, updated all apps installed and then went online again. During the first few hours I made some minor template fixes on the css files and nothing more and everything seemed OK. But then it all sudden started fully loading the server, a lots of errors and kept on returning errors.



First there was Error: 0 Could not connect to MySQL and then it kept on like that:



Displaying the error page: Application Instantiation Error! all the time.



The site is dead slow. I searched the forum for the same error and found some suggestions which I followed them all but nothing happened. Cross checked the modules for load time, disabled some of them, well ...nothing.

The site is very big;it's a news portal. I don't know what's going on, it just keeps on with errors some times all the time, some times less frequent. So far I've done as follows:

-Changed the db user name to a shorter one.

-Moved db to a new one

-Re installed modules/components etc to latest versions

-Double checked configuration.php and changed to new db user name reference

-Installed F0F 2.3.5 by Akeeba
