if your host still has got PHP 5.1 you seriously need to look for another or persuade him to upgrade his PHP...
You don't go for a Joomla 1.5 site nowadays.. it has reached end of life ages ago...
If you are building new you should not even consider 2.5 as it reaches eol end of this year..
Get a host which has got up to date servers and start with 3.x
Your 2.5 localhost should easily be able to updated to 3.x.
I have talked to them and all they say is that they are no planning to upgrade anything in their platform (Because they also have a very very old parallels plesk version). Now i understand what you say(and thanks for the quick reply), but as i said, what i don't understand is why did it work in my local computer?
