Hi folks, I'm new to the whole website creation game and have just engaged a provider to host some domain names I've registered for my business.
I've engaged a US/Canada based host provider, which included registering a .com domain, although the domain I want to use is the same name but with .com.au (i.e. Australian based).
Steps so far include:
1. I've set up the .com.au domain as an addon domain in public_html (under the main .com domain)
2. Installed Joomla 3.3.6 through Softaculous into the addon domain directory
3. Changed htaccess.txt to htaccess (although I note there is another htaccess in the main public_html folder).
4. Had a play with Joomla setting up categories, menus, articles etc.
5. Home/main page shows in site preview with URL Rewriting enabled, but any other main menu links (i.e. 'About', 'Services' etc) throw up the following 404 error:
Not Found
The requested URL /about was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache mod_bwlimited/1.4 Server at http://ift.tt/1oViImM Port 80
If anybody can help me out with getting the necessary mod_rewrite rules written to the .htaccess file for the addon domain (.com.au) I'd be massively appreciative.
Thanks and cheers
