1. In the module manager you go to module search and empty the box text and/or button text.
2. As the usual default (english) text for the read more button is "read more" and not "continue reading" ... I think your template has an override for this NOT using the default Joomla! language pack but one of it's own... You could check in folder languages if it does or in the template html folder if the override is there..
Also it can be hardcoded in the view...
