Templates for Joomla! 3.x • Re: adding a module position issue

Have a look at how the protostar template handles this in it's index.php file (from Line 50.) It basically uses different classes on the component div to set the width. So if both right and left columns have modules in there set the class to span6, if only one column has modules set the class to span9 and if neither column has modules set the class to span12.



It then assigns this class to the content div (Line 174.)
