If the answer is Yes, have you developed the multilingual site using the core Joomla! multilingual features?
What you do you mean by the local language? Are you referring to the Site Default Language?
As for as English is concerned the text strings "Next" and "Previous" are concerned, they are the same in both en-GB and en-US. In spite of this, if you want to change the text strings, you could do it using the language override feature. The language override can be done in the Language Manager, in the tab Overrides.
