Well whoever told you that you should go India Based webhost for good Indian traffic, then he is not having any idea abt webhosting. Its a misconception to use a local host. I have building an eccoemere cum affiliate website of my own and i have created an account with a US based webhost company and there customer service is superb.I will suggest you to go with US based web host coz of 2 reason . (1) They provide very gud support. (2) US based webhosts are very cheap compare to India.
I have webhost account with unlimited space/ unlimited domain for 2 years for just rs 1500 INR only. I bet no indian company offers such a cheap but excellent service.
