Administration Joomla! 2.5 • Unable to use administrator areas after new install

I just migrated from joomla 1.5 to joomla 2.5 using redmigrate component but the administrator area is unusable as whenever i select an option such as "insert image" the pop up box does not appear but the whole page is appearing and it does not let me select and insert the image. This is with other administrative areas that require me to select an option such as module positions. The whole page is large and it is impossible to get out of the page or cancel unless i hit the back button. Everything else seems to be working fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have tried using other templates but the same thing is happening.
