Administration Joomla! 2.5 • Re: Cannot change permissions in Global Settings

Sorry to resurrect an old post but I just had this happen and came across it via a google search.

What happened in my case was I set up a Joomla 3.x empty installation (no sample data) into which I migrated a 2.5.x site.

During the process of migration, the user I originally set the 3.x install up with was wiped out, but it seems the session remained and I remained logged in as that (now non-existent) user.

When I looked at the back-end I could see that there was a user logged into the admin panel, but there was no username present. Whenever I went to global config I got this message about deleting your own super user info.

All I did was ensure that there was a user in the migrated data I could log in as with super admin rights, and then logged out & logged back in as that user.
