Migrating and Upgrading to Joomla! 2.5 • Re: Upgrading Joomla Version 1.5.15

It is not that easy to migrate your 1.5 version joomla website to 2.5 or 3.0 only if you are a joomla expertise. If you have decided to migrate your joomla version then keep in mind the following factors:

* Take a complete backup your site off the server. Download, install and run Akeebabackup to take the backup.

* Check the compatibility of current extensions in Joomla 2.5/3.x. Most of the extensions are not compatible, in that case need to find alternatives.

* Check your current template compatibility in 2.5/3.x. If it is not then you need to customize after migration

* It is possible to migrate directly from 1.5.15 to 2.5.11 or 3.1.1
