General Questions/New to Joomla! 3.x • Submenu does not appear

hi, i installed a free template where i could have a submenu in then main menu. I even got je orbit slideshow module installed. However, the pages where the slideshow is disablad, the submenu does not appear. I suppose it is something to do with jquery, but I do not know how to fix this. Would appreciate some help. Thanks
