Hi, I couldn't send you a message because I'm a new user on this. New users on the forum are not allowed to send messages. I sent you can email instead. Thanks.
GoDaddy is compatible with Joomla, but GD oversells their servers cramming way too many sites onto a single machine IMHO. I quit GD for the same reason you are and bought into a VPS plan so I wouldn't have to bother with idiots sharing the server and slowing my stuff down. That is the only surefire way to have a fast server (in other words no one else hosting on it but you). Problem is it costs a lot more than GD does. I have tons of space and lots of bandwidth now though. PM me and I might be able to help you out with some low cost space.
As for other commercial hosts it is almost always a crap shoot. I have been told BlueHost is good for Joomla but have never tried it. I dabbled with HostGator as well but wasn't happy with performance there either.
Good luck!
