Guess that this is just bad luck, people make mistakes. Don't know what you linked at originally but agree on that the correction looks like the wrong thing. Normally, they would follow up on it, if not done by someone else. I would have reported the correct link and by reporting ask for clarification.
Agree on the advice to change your avatar. Just because of the effect it had, don't know anything about the motivation to force you. Considering not everybody is so well trained on communication skills think it was the right thing to do. Thanks for bringing this up, wondered about your avatar change.
About commercializing Joomla, I have seen no indications of that. Don't think it will ever happen. Expect history to repeat itself when it does ( mambo->Joomla!).
