The feature in question is RokSprocket , a Rocket Themes extension (module), used in Feature mode. What Rocket calls "documentation" is available on their site; I found Experimentation more useful. The most important things I learned: each RokSprocket mode is designed for a specific (but undefined) type of content - picture-based, text-based, etc. - and will misbehave if your type of content is a poor match for the display mode; and the more screen-acreage you can give it, the more predictable its behavior. The Rocket forum is - well - a forum; there is good information to be had there, as well as opinion stated as fact and more questions than answers. I am using Oculus w/RokSprocket at http://scottwhitesellmusic.com in several of its modes, and have found that a floaing DIV with a negative margin can work magic... Good Luck!
